I'm still here

Hi there!

I'm sorry I haven't posted more updates this past few months. In truth, I thought I didn't have enough progress to show you. I still don't have a release date for the first chapter, but I wanted to post here to assure you that I'm still working on it. In the meantime, if you are interested, I can tell you a little bit more about what I've been doing since the last update I made in November.

As I've previously stated, the demo currently available to download was always supposed to be the game's prologue. However, there were a few things I wasn't satisfied with anymore. Therefore, the final version of the prologue will be a little different than the demo.

What will be different?

  • Most of the art has been improved or redrawn, some more than others. This includes backgrounds, CGs and Sprites (particularly the characters appearing in the demo). I'm also planning on making a new menu background.
  • I rewrote most of the dialogues and narration, focusing on improving the style and pace.

What will be the same?

  •  The overall design of the backgrounds and characters and the UI.
  • The plot, the story elements and events.
  •  As of now, I don't plan on changing the gameplay.

To give you an idea, here's an example of one of the backgrounds I have changed:

And here is the new version of Virgile's sprite.

I hope you like it.

Regarding Chapter 1: most of the new art appearing in the first chapter is done, and I'm currently writing the dialogues and narration. I will release the prologue with the first chapter, and the page will be updated with the new art and descriptions when I can confidently announce a release date.

I know it's taking a long time, and I really appreciate your patience. I'm doing my best to keep up the pace, but this is also supposed to be a fun experience for me, so I'm trying to avoid putting too much pressure on myself.

If you're still reading and feel like you want to follow the development, I have a question for you: would you rather have smaller but more frequent updates or less frequent but more substantial ones?

You can answer under this post, ask any question you want or leave any comment you might have.

Thank you for your interest in the game. I hope you're doing okay wherever you are. See you soon for more updates.

I'm glad you're doing well and are still working on the game! I love the new art, and I'm looking forward to seeing more!

Don't stress yourself too much, like you said, this is meant to be fun for you too, so no need to overwork yourself! I'm happy to read an update, and honestly, I'd be happy with either way, whether it be a short update just checking in, or a longer update with progress, so do whatever you feel happier/more comfortable doing.

Also, not sure if you've answered this before, or even have an answer, but do you know roughly how many chapters you're working towards? It's just out of curiosity, so don't feel the need to answer!

Hope you're well! Thank you for this amazing game you've given us, it really means the world to me.

Thank you very much for your kind words, I really appreciate it!

I can't tell you for sure how many chapters I'll release, but I'd like to aim for 5-6 chapters. It could end up being more though.

I'll keep you updated when I have more news. Thank you again for your support!

Sounds good to me! Thank you for the reply, hope you have a great day!
